Per RCW 35.77.010, all cities, towns, and counties are required to develop and adopt a six-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) with final City Council approval required before July 1 annually.
The TIP is a short-range planning document that is updated every year and shows the funding sources and amounts for transportation improvement projects planned for the next six years. Projects that are funded with State and/or Federal grants are required to be included in the TIP.
The TIP includes street and highway improvements, non-motorized projects, and transit investments. The annual adoption of the update allows the city to apply for and receive various state and federal funds to implement projects in the program.
