Randy West is honored to serve the residents of Mount Vernon and Ward 1. His service as a Naval Officer brought him to NAS Whidbey Island in the late 1990s, where he quickly fell in love with the Skagit Valley. Now a long-time resident, he is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the city that welcomed his family years ago.
Professionally, Randy holds the unique perspective of managing programs for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force. This experience allows him to quickly understand and appreciate different viewpoints—a skill he will combine with his background in private-sector technology and Washington State public service to help manage city projects with fiscal discipline and efficiency.
Randy is dedicated to transparent governance and practical solutions that help our infrastructure keep pace with growth. In his free time, you can find him appreciating the laws of gravity while either skiing down the local slopes or motorcycling through our valley’s scenic backroads. He maintains an open-door policy and encourages neighbors to reach out.
