The Mount Vernon City Library Annual December music series is back!


Campbell Road
Monday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m.  

Campbell Road is a Celtic band that mixes traditional Irish pub music with Scottish political rants, old English ballads, American bluegrass tunes, and the occasional Galician, Breton or Swedish influence.

Canta Breve
Monday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Canta Breve is a new ensemble of eight auditioned vocalists from Cantabile Chamber Choir. They perform concerts of sacred and secular works. Their music genres range from classic to contemporary, and from sacred to folk music.

Make beautiful cards using a Japanese Paper Quilting technique. Supplies will be provided but space is limited. Call (360) 336-6209 or visit the library to reserve your spot.

From the wrapping paper to the gifts themselves, learn how you can take easy, manageable steps to reduce the waste you create this holiday season.

Drop-In Ugly Sweater Decorating

Thursday, December 12 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Bring your own sweater and we’ll bring the decorations! There will be light refreshment and festive music to enjoy while you craft in our Conference Room. All ages welcome.

A Celebration of Victorian Christmas traditions and Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women

Tuesday, December 17 at 6 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments from Olde Towne Grainery Tea Room, learn about Victorian Christmas traditions, the dangerous side of Victorian attire, and try out some Victorian Holiday crafts before the new adaption of Little Women hits the big screen.
 
See what a March Family Christmas would have been like and experience the holidays in a new way.

Put on a cozy hat and celebrate the magic of winter with books, ukuleles, and silly-sweet seasonal songs. We will learn finger plays, sing-alongs, and wiggle and giggle with catchy tunes about snowmen, warm woollen mittens, and ice cream falling from the sky! Presented by Keeth Apgar of The Harmonica Pocket.
