"A Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Challenge

Saturday, June 1 to Friday, August 16
For Kids & Adults of All Ages

Mount Vernon City Library is challenging you to read for 50 days this summer! You can read or listen to anything you like (books, graphic novels, magazines etc.), but we ask that you read a minimum of 20 minutes for each day that you log. Earn books, bookmarks, and prizes for meeting reading goals. 

Register at the library starting Saturday, June 1, online at mountvernonwa.beanstack.org, or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker App.

Follow the antics of forest animals and a fiddler in a magical forest during a 20-minute puppet show. After, kids can make their own shadow puppets and participate in a simple show.

Create a galaxy tie dye shirt. All supplies provided. Teens who per-register will get their choice of t-shirt size.

Join us at the Lincoln Theatre for a free showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, sponsored by the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge #1604, followed by a free BBQ and ice cream social in Pine Square. Free copies of the book will be given out, while supplies last! (Free tickets for the BBQ will be distributed at the movie.)
