Pre-Readers (Birth - Age 5)- Early literacy activities children and their caregiver can do together
- Earn a free book
Elementary (Ages 5-11)- Reading goal: 800 minutes
- Free books, bookmarks & half-way prizes
- Earn entries to grand prize drawings
Middle/High School (Ages 11-18)- Reading goal: 1500 minutes
- Earn raffle tickets to enter 5 grand prize drawings
- Free books & coupons

Summer ExplorersTuesdays in June and August10:30 a.m. Ages 3-6 with caregiverSummer is a great time for exploring! Fun, hands-on activities will alternate each week between indoor/outdoor gardening and messy science.

Rocky Raccoon - Summer Reading MascotTuesday, June 19 - Tuesday, July 31Meet Rocky Raccoon, this year’s Summer Reading Mascot. Starting Tuesday, June 19, she’ll be hiding in a downtown Mount Vernon business storefront window - you don't have to go into the store to find her. She’ll move to a new location every Tuesday during the summer. If you spot her, come to the library, tell us where, and get a little prize.

Read the Book, See the Movie "Mr. Popper's Penguins"Saturday, July 28 2:30 p.m. Lincoln Theatre/Pine SquareCome watch "Mr. Popper's Penguins" for FREE at the Lincoln Theatre.
