The cost of a VIP ticket is a donation to the Mount Vernon Library Commons project. VIP ticket holders will be invited to a special tour of the new building with the architect, Julie Blazek, on the afternoon of the event. In addition, VIPs will be given a copy of any one of Tim Egan’s books which he will sign after the event

At the event, Egan will talk about the value of community libraries, followed by an audience Q&A and a post-talk book signing.

Timothy Egan is an acclaimed writer and veteran chronicler of the American experience, whose interests range wide across history and landscape, and into the spiritual realm. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, a popular columnist, and a National Book Award-winning author of eleven books, including A Fever in the Heartland, The Immortal Irishman, The Worst Hard Time, and The Good Rain: Across Time and Terrain in the Pacific Northwest.
