The Mount Vernon Library Commons will be a cornerstone of our community. It will be a place for families to gather for story time, organizations to host events, and teens to learn and feel safe for the next 5 generations! 

We invite you to create a legacy that will impact the Mount Vernon community for years to come with a donation to the Mount Vernon Library Commons project.

With summer here and the kickoff to the Summer Reading Program, we are launching our Make Your Mark Campaign for people of all ages to have their donation recognized in the new library. 

Here are the different ways to leave your mark in the new Mount Vernon Library Commons:

"I (Heart) MY LIBRARY" KIDS CAMPAIGN

Starting June 26, when a child or family makes a gift (of any size) to the Capital Campaign, the child(ren) get to sign a large bookmark that will be displayed in the Children's Library in the Mount Vernon Library Commons. Donate online to the Kids Campaign.

DONOR WALL - $1,000+

When you donate $1,000 or more to the Capital Campaign, your gift will be recognized on the donor wall. You get to choose how your gift is recognized, examples include a family or individual name, in memory of a loved one, or to honor a grandchild. 

Give monthly to reach the $1,000 goal. Pledge $1 a day ($30/month) for 3 years for a total of $1,080.

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES

Construction Update

Construction Update

The library work has gone vertical. Over the past month, the new library's ground floor got completed. The work now goes vertical to add three parking decks to the library commons during the optimal summer months for concrete pouring. 

Although work will primarily be structural, the building will have a few brick faces emerging by summer's end. Can you guess the color? 

The Mount Vernon Library Commons is still on track for a Spring 2024 completion.
