Consider Supporting the Project
Today my family and I made our first donation to the Mount Vernon Library Commons (MVLC). In this year of uncertainty, this project represents a point of stability for my family.
In response to the numerous questions I ask him, my son Elliot (now 11) has taken to saying, "Libraries are the answer. Now what was the question again, Dad?" Although I know he's joking, I am also constantly amazed that libraries are so often the answer.
Data shows a good library is a crucial feature that home builders, investors, and businesses look for when choosing a community. It is an essential feature for families to share books, reading, and culture (and it can genuinely delight children.) It also provides a critical piece of many people's safety net. So, it's no wonder that a good library is important to 93% of our Skagit residents.
You can help us make a better future. Your support is critical to finishing this project.
And what a project the MVLC is. A first-of-kind mega-charging, passive house, incubator kitchen, and children-focused learning hub with a community center and library. Ready to kick downtown development in gear, attract visitors, and support our community resiliency goals. It will be something Mount Vernon is known for in the area.
Whether you can give one dollar or a million, please consider a year-end donation.
Our kick-off donor, Lyn Bishop, is donating $250,000 in honor of her mother, Jean Grund. Lyn appreciates the value of libraries to the community, and we deeply appreciate Lyn’s thoughtful memoriam to her mother.
You too can give a gift that makes a difference! Please consider a donation of any size:
Donate online: https://www.mvlibraryfoundation.org/make-a-donation.html
Donate by mail: MV Library Foundation, PO BOX 202 Mount Vernon, WA 98273
Donate in person: Bring a check (addressed to MV Library Foundation) to the library.
100% of your donation will go directly toward finishing the MVLC and help boost our advocacy for more federal dollars.
