We're certainly not the first to say it, and this is definitely not the first time you've heard it, but 2020 has turned everything that was once normal on its head, including the Library. You've stood by our side as we’ve adapted our services to the ever-changing guidelines, have come through our curbside service with smiles and treats, and have left us lovely and encouraging messages via phone, email, and social media, and for all those things we are truly grateful. You, our patrons, are the heart of the library, and you’re what keeps us going.
 
We recognize that many of you have already given so much to the library, whether through volunteering, book donations, or simply being one of our valued patrons. This #GivingTuesday, we're asking for your generosity once again. The financial impacts of Covid-19 have hit the Library hard, resulting in 14 staff layoffs and budget cuts, including the elimination of magazines in the Library’s 2021 budget.  
 
You can be part of the effort to keep the periodical section of the Mount Vernon Library current by "adopting" a magazine through the Mount Vernon Library Foundation’s "Adopt a Periodical" campaign. Over 75% of the magazines have already been adopted, and with your help, we'd love to reach 100%.

Simply follow these steps to adopt a periodical: 


1) Visit mvlibraryfoundation.org/adopt-a-periodical


2) Scan the list of magazines and pick one or more of your favorites that you want to see current issues of in the library. Undesignated donations are also welcome.
 
3) Click the button to be taken to the donation page, fill out the form, and donate the cost of a year’s subscription

 If you would like to adopt a title that is not on the list, send an email to info@mvlibraryfoundation.org and they will have someone check availability and get back with you. 

Your donation will be honored with your name on a shelf label.
