This project included constructing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Section and Laventure, relocation of curb ramps to reduce the pedestrian crossing distance, removal and replacement of asphalt pavement to accommodate the improvements, widened sidewalks to accommodate large groups of pedestrians, and street light improvements. In addition, the contract included modifying the vehicle and bike detection system at the existing signals on Laventure at Fir and Division, and procurement of equipment to construct flashing push button beacons for the Kulshan Trail pedestrian crossings at 30th St and 18th St.
The project was awarded to Colacurcio Brothers, Inc., of Blaine, Washington, on May 4, 2017, in the amount of $643,685.28. Project physical completion was achieved on January 5, 2018. The final project cost was $653,983.69.
