Budget Process
The City of Mount Vernon is required by state law to adopt a balanced annual budget. The budget plan reflects the coordinated efforts of all city departments and elected officials in identifying community needs and establishing priorities within the city's financial limitations. Each year a budget is completed by December 31st.

2013 Budget  This budget was approved at a public hearing before the City Council on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Any subsequent budget amendments will not be reflected in this document.

Summarized versions of the 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 budgets are also available for viewing. The City Library carries full versions of all budgets. These documents are presented with the understanding that it is dated information and should be considered historical reference only.
