2017 City of Mount Vernon Free Fall Cleanup Days

The City of Mount Vernon is offering a FREE Fall clean-up to any single family residence and owner occupied duplex, tri-plex and four-plex within the City Limits of Mount Vernon. These customers can dispose one average load each (three separate loads) of garbage, recycling and yard waste at the City of Mount Vernon Shop Complex (1010 Shop Lane) FREE OF CHARGE!

If your garbage day is on Monday, Wednesday or Friday your clean-up day will be October 14th from 9am-4pm.

If your garbage day is on Tuesday or Thursday your clean-up day will be October 21st from 9am-4pm.

**If you are unable to attend the clean-up on your assigned day, you may bring your loads on the opposite day**

All residents within the City Limits MUST present their September City of Mount Vernon utility bill and a valid ID verifying City of Mount Vernon address to dispose of one load of garbage, recycling and yard waste.

Only one load of each - Please separate each load as mixed loads will not be accepted.
No loose garbage loads will be accepted.
All trash must be bagged.
No commercial loads will be accepted!
No U-Haul vans or extremely large trailers will be accepted!     
Thank you for your cooperation.

We will accept the following items:
Household garbage
Junk & debris
Furniture items (couch’s, chairs, tables, mattresses, etc.)
Clean wood (2x4’s, 4x4’s, plywood, decks, fences, etc.)
Recycle materials (cardboard, mixed paper, tin, glass, and aluminum cans)
Scrap Metal (stoves, washers, dryers, barbecues, lawn mowers, hot water tanks, etc. Please remove gas and oil from engine)
Yard Waste (grass, leaves, brush, branches etc.)
5 gallons maximum of household paint
5 pounds maximum of alkaline household batteries

We CANNOT accept the following items, but  we can offer contact information regarding their proper disposal:
Used Motor Oil (O’Reilly Auto Parts 424-6131)
Refrigerators or Freezers (Larry’s Auto 757-7444, Skagit River Steel 757-6096)
Propane tanks (Larry’s Auto 757-7444)                                                     Computer parts & Televisions (Goodwill 848-0646)
