This project will provide congestion relief, safety, and accessibility improvements to the signalized intersections on College Way and Riverside Drive. It includes construction of yellow flashing left turn signals, LED street light upgrades, American with Disability Act (ADA) upgrades including curb ramps, push button and countdown pedestrian signals at twelve intersections on College Way (Freeway Drive - Waugh Road) and Riverside Drive (Pacific Avenue - Fir Street).
Funding for this project is through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Project Status: This project was awarded to Colacurcio Brothers of Blaine, WA in the amount of $1,449,514.00.
Most of the ADA ramps that will be improved have been removed. Work will continue over the next few weeks with ramp and pedestrian head construction. Later, the flashing left turn signals will be installed. Work is anticipated to be complete by late November 2019.
It is expected that traffic disruptions will be relatively minor.
