Crazy 8s Math Club

Crazy 8s is a recreational after-school math club that helps kids in grades 3-5 enjoy the math behind activities like building glow-in-the-dark structures and cracking secret spy codes. For kids of all math abilities. New members welcome!

Friends of the Library Book Sale 
Friday, April 19 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.  & Saturday, April 20 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Stop by the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale at Fire Station #1 (901 S 2nd St) to stock up on books for the family.

Pine Square and Lincoln Theatre

Let’s celebrate the children of our community!  Please join us for a free family event with games, arts and crafts, food, and music in Pine Square from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Student performances from 3:00pm-4:00pm at the Lincoln Theatre by MVHS Mariachi, BEHS Mariachi, Los Solecitos del Valle Grupo Folklorico de Burlington, Sedro Woolley 6th-12th grade students, and Washington Elementary School 1st and 4th grade students. We will also be giving away 300 books, half of them will be Spanish or bilingual.This event is organized by the Mount Vernon City Library, Burlington Public Library and Central Skagit Library.


¡Celebremos a los niños de nuestra comunidad! Únase a nosotros para un evento familiar gratuito con juegos, arte, comida y música en Pine Square de 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Actuaciones estudiantiles de 3:00 - 4:00 pm en el Teatro Lincoln por MVHS Mariachi, BEHS Mariachi, Los Solecitos del Valle Grupo Folklórico de Burlington, Sedro Woolley estudiantes de 6-12 grado y Washington Elementary School estudiantes de 1-4 grado. También regalaremos 300 libros, la mitad de ellos serán en español o bilingüe.

Teen Paint Night: Starry Night Mashup
Saturday, April 27 from 5:15 p.m. -7:15 p.m.

Join us after-hours at the library and unleash your creative side. Munch on some pizza as we guide you through creating your very own painting. Completed pieces will be on display in the library’s new art gallery until May 31. Registration requested.

Storytimes

Storytime is an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun way. At Storytime, children have an opportunity to do activities that promote development and learning. See a list of our storytimes here. 




Tales for Tails 
First Saturday of the Month 
1-2 p.m.
Recommended for ages 6-12

Dogs on Call, an all-volunteer organization of certified therapy dogs, presents this reading program for reluctant readers (and readers who just love dogs). Reading to dogs helps put kids at ease and makes reading more enjoyable. Recommended for ages 6-12.



LEGO Building 
Wednesdays from 3-7:30 p.m.
Saturdays from 2-4:30 p.m.

We supply the LEGOs, you bring your imagination.  All ages welcome. 





Play and Learn
Fridays and Saturdays from 10-11:30 a.m.
Recommended for ages 2-6

Drop-in for self-guided kindergarten readiness activities for caregivers and children to explore together.
