Spring Break | April 2 - 6 | 2 - 4 p.m.
Experience the magic of virtual reality with our new Oculus Rift system. A friendly robot will transport you to the ‘80s and teach you how to play in the world of virtual reality. Want to participate? All you have to do is:
- Be at least 13 years old
- Register at the library or online
- Have a singed permission form
- Want to participate in a a research study? Have a signed research consent form
- Show up and have fun!

Tales for Tails
First Saturday of the Month
Dogs on Call, an all-volunteer organization of certified therapy dogs, presents this reading program for reluctant readers (and readers who just love dogs). Reading to dogs helps put kids at ease and makes reading more enjoyable. Recommended for ages 6-12.
Wednesdays from 3-7:30 p.m.
Saturdays from 2-4:30 p.m.
We supply the LEGOs, you bring your imagination. All ages welcome.
Countdown to Kindergarten
Fridays - 10-11:30 a.m.
2nd/4th Saturdays - 10-11:30 a.m.
Drop-in for self-guided kindergarten readiness activities for caregivers and children to explore together.

Get a birthday present from the Library! Visit the birthday bulletin board next time you come to the Library. Children ages 1 to 14 years may join the Birthday Club by filling out a form with their name, age, birthday and favorite book. During your birthday month, we will display your form on our bulletin board. You may pick up a birthday present from the Youth Services desk any time during that month. The Birthday Club is sponsored by the Mount Vernon Red Apple Market, and the Mount Vernon City Library.
